Trish's Sand Pearl Studios is based in Freeland, Washington on beautiful Whidbey Island. Trish has been painting in oils and watercolor for the past several years. She describes her art as modern impressionism.

Traci and Dawn have worked together for nine years doing nails. They hosted a WIN Chair-ity Chair at their salon, Simply Nails, last year, and this year they thought it would be fun to paint a chair themselves! They're always up for a challenge and love helping to raise money for the community.

A lover of all things creative, she dabbles in acrylics, watercolors, string arts, mixed media and more. When she's not covered in paint, you’ll find her listening to music, watching a movie, or enjoying time with her family. Life with her husband, kids, and three gentle giants (Great Danes) is an adventure worth cherishing.
Leigh is a former graphic designer who moved to Whidbey Island in 2010. It was supposed to be temporary, but she and her husband fell in love with the island and the community and have made this their home ever since. These days she is mostly a stay-at-home “fur baby” mom who likes to dabble in creative things.
Peggy has been a practicing studio artist, shown regionally and nationally, since 1977. Peggy has worked in a multitude of mediums including textile surface design, oil painting, glass painting, wood, ceramics, mixed media, clothing design and construction. Peggy has also taught regionally and nationally. Peggy has been a merchant and business owner since 2008: Eddy’s, Side Market, and founded the Bard’s Boutique, a gift shop supporting Island Shakespeare Festival.
Maggie is 15 years old and a student at Woodhaven High School. Maggie loves to draw and always can be seen with her sketchbook in hand.
Alicia is 16 years old and goes to Woodhaven High School. She loves creating art and has been drawing since she could pick up a crayon. She is very excited to be participating in the Chair-ity auction as an artist and can't wait to see what the other chairs look like. Some of her hobbies, besides painting and drawing, include sewing, acting, and baking.
Growing up on Vashon Island but having connections to Whidbey Island, Lynn treasures summers on Puget Sound, including beach combing and clam digging. Lynn’s chair theme, “Clam Diggers”, will reflect the importance of family adventures and the simple joy of clam digging on the beautiful island beaches of Puget Sound.
An award winning, internationally recognized artist with a day job!Kelly is active in two galleries near her home on Whidbey Island, in Washington State. At Garry Oak Gallery, she holds the vice-president role and is a member of the jury committee at Artworks Gallery, she is an active commissioned artist member.Kelly participates in several juried art shows at all levels.
Jan is a talented artist with a natural gift for creative expression, particularly in the realms of color, line, balance, and contrast. Her work is deeply inspired by abstract, primitive and natural imagery, which she skillfully integrates into her art. Drawing on her strong background in graphic design and art direction, Jan seamlessly blends abstract elements to tell stories that surprise and intrigue the viewer.
Kristi, a lover of nature, beauty and joy, is a multi-faceted artist: graphic, landscape, and performing. She teaches art classes to children of all ages.For her 2024 WIN chair, “The Food That Feeds Us’, she will use one of her favorite techniques of multi-layer sketching and painting.The artwork will portray seeds to garden flowers to fruits and vegetables and their pollinators, infused with whimsey.That’s the joy and soul food!

Stroll along the golden path with the fun dancing carrots. Visit the wee bee skep, the strawberry patch, lettuce heads and kale. Continuing on past the flower garden, you enter the apple orchard. Take a walk through the dale and immerse yourself in hearts and butterflies alive in the flowering meadow. The mountain vista shows its nourishing stream flowing; salmon spawning. A glistening creek meanders through the forest to a hidden reflecting pond; a place to nourish your soul. We end at the beginning, with a bit of whimsy! Tiny fairy tale mushrooms meet up with the dancing carrots!
This is a great chair to teach your kids and grandkids about nature. What pollinators do you see? What kinds of fruits and vegetables are there? How many shades of green?

Tiffany is a multidisciplinary artist with BFA from Coastal Carolina University, and an MFA in Design and Painting from the University of Illinois at Urban Champaign. Tiffany is fascinated by the color spectrum, loves working in vibrant specific pallets, creating whimsical creatures, and creating art that connects people and promotes love.
Sarah is a Seattle native who’s visited Whidbey Island many times over the years before eventually moving to the island February 2021. She loves drawing and painting, hiking and kayaking and going on adventures with her husband and dogs, Indiana and Kahn.When she moved to the island her creative energy began moving freely.
Doe had a free range childhood in Miami, Florida.She graduated with honors from Florida International University, with a B.S. Interior Design program, where she practiced for seven years.She moved to the Pacific Northwest in ’86.Doe has been a potter for 20 years and textile artist for 17 years, serving the tribes and multicultural events.Doe is a wife, mother and grandmother.
Allie was born in Seattle and moved to Whidbey Island in 2019. She studied digital arts and sculpture at the University of Oregon and graduated with a BFA in Art and Technology in 2018. Allie is an interdisciplinary artist who utilizes a wide range of processes and materials to explore natural occrruing patterns and textures. She focuses her studies on the exploration of materials, using observations to inform parameters or rules. She often works with mark-making, patterns, and material manipulations.
Sierra was born and raised on Whidbey island. She has always had a love for creativity. She enjoys an array of art forms, but her signature style is free flowing detailed patterns typically drawn with ink.
While working together at Salty Sea Coffee they discovered they shared a love for meticulous mark making and intricate pattern design.
Steph Terao Hunter moved to Whidbey Island in 2018 from Queens, NY to be closer to family.Born and raised in Evanston, IL, Steph studied art at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Primarily an oil painter, she has dabbled in many different media and creative fields from illustration to sign painting. The chair Steph is painting is named for her journey from Saratoga Springs to the Saratoga Passage.
Natasha moved to Whidbey Island in 2000 to teach at the Waldorf School. Through teaching, she has had the opportunity to try many forms of arts and crafts. Her personal favorites are textile arts and dot mandalas with acrylics, and she has a particular love for geometric drawings and paintings. Natasha now teaches at the South Whidbey Elementary School, where she sees first-hand the incredible gifts WIN gives to support the nourishment of children in our community.
